Get practical tips for how to re-evaluate your priorities, outsource tasks you dislike, and make incremental changes to get closer to your ideal life. Whether you want to start a side hustle or simply work less and live more, this episode is full of inspiration to help you break free from what society says you "should" do and design a career that truly fits your life.

Hi, I am Louise Daniel, I am a teacher, business owner, mum, wife and closet physics lover. I live in North Yorkshire in a house that myself and my husband built (it nearly broke us, physically, mentally and in every other way possible!). It is in the middle of a field, in the middle of nowhere and we love it. I enjoy being able to walk in amongst nature and see nobody else. We have horses and sheep for neighbours, whom my children affectionately refer to as our ‘pets’. I have a 9 year son, and a 2 year old daughter, both teach me about life every day.
I work as a teacher 3 days a week, teaching Law and Psychology, an education consultant one day a week and run my businesses one day a week. For a long time I was teaching full time, but knew I wanted to do more. I set up my first business, And so to Shop, a marketplace for small businesses, and ran it as a side hustle outside of working hours. It grew, and at the same time, I realised that teaching full time was zapping the joy out of teaching for me. I moved to working 3 days a week, in order to allow myself to do other types of work. This freedom has led me to have 3 little businesses, all centred around supporting small businesses, and I also provide support to local schools, working with children who have special educational needs. I have found this hybrid way of working has brought me job satisfaction and allowed me the freedom to be creative, have fun and do more of what I want to do. I am able to go outside when I want to, work when I want to, spend time with the people I want to and generally be a little more selfish in life. We get taught that things have to be a certain way, but actually, if we think outside the box, and create a life that works for us, it can be so much more.
